What is....The Guardians of the Galaxy Game

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a single-player third-person action-adventure game. You play as StarLord in a Guardians group freshly formed, less than a year. Even though the other Guardians are AI-controlled, you will be able to give attack commands to all the Guardians in combat. Each AI Guardian seems to have a set of moves to choose from, then go on a cooldown. From the feel of the trailer and extended gameplay, Eidos-Montreal has nailed the banter of the Guardians.

Our first look at gameplay showed us the potential “Telltale Games” type dialogue that will have lasting effects on the story and character relationships. Obviously, these Guardians look different than what the broader public is familiar with now, but they don’t feel as off-putting as the character models in Marvel’s Avengers were when that game was first revealed.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be released on October 26th, 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. There will be in game cosmetics with the purchase of one of the premium pre-orders but there are no microtransactions or plans of DLC as of writing.
