What is...Redfall

At the end of the XBOX Bethesda E3 showcase, there was a new world premiere cinematic.

Redfall is a first-person, open-world co-op shooter similar in spirit to Left 4 Dead and other games in that genre. You can play solo or co-op with up to 4 players, but it seems aimed to play better with others. Rather than zombie hordes, Arkane Studios opted for vampires.

The game is set in Redfall, an island town in Massachusetts that has been cut off by vampires and the cultists that worship them. The goal is to find out who or what is turning the town into New Transylvania, why these vampires are taking over the town, and clear out the incursion.

Each of the 4 characters have unique abilities and backstories: Layla Ellison, the telekenietic, “Edgar Allen Bro” Jacob Boyer, the Sharpshooter, Remi de la Rosa, the engineer with a robot dog companion, and Devinder Crousley, the scientist. Each character will have their own abilities and customizable loadouts.

Redfall currently is set for a Summer 2022 release exclusively on XBOX Series X|S and PC.
