Joaquin Phoenix in talks to play The Joker in a standalone film by Todd Phillips.

Variety reports Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to star as the Clown Prince of Crime in the Todd Phillips standalone Joker Film by Warner Bros. Phillips said that Phoenix is his #1 choice to play The Joker but nothing has been officially announced by Warner Bros. Phillips is set to direct the film and co-write the script with Scott Silver. Variety's sources say the story will take place in the 80's as a gritty crime drama. 

I personally think that Phoenix would be a great choice to the play the Joker, He's the type of actor that always gives 100% and puts everything into his roles. No release date has been set for the standalone film, but stay tuned here at Careful 4 Spoiler for updates !
