DCU Chapter One - Gods and Monsters: Full Slate
Every since James Gunn was appointed as the head of the DC Studios with Peter Safran, fans have been waiting to find out their vision for DC going forward.
Here’s all of the shows and movies that was revealed for Chapter One of the DCU!
DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters | Films
SUPERMAN: LEGACY
“Superman: Legacy” is being written by James Gunn and will feature and younger Superman/Clark Kent working at the Daily Planet and managing his responsibilities of being Superman.
Release Date: July 11. 2025.
Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow
The film will be based on Tom King’s award-winning comic run and “presents a Supergirl viewers are not used to seeing.”

THE AUTHORITY
The Authority is a superhero comic book series published by DC Comics under the Wildstorm imprint. It was created in 1999 by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch and follows the adventures of the Authority, a superhero team mainly composed of Ellis-created characters from Stormwatch.

THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD
“The Brave and the Bold” is a Silver-Age comic book series published by DC Comics as an ongoing series from 1955 to 1983, followed by two mini-series in 1991 and 1999, and was revived as an ongoing title in 2007.
It was also adapted into a three-season animated series titled “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” which aired on Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2011.
DC Studios’ news release states that “the DCU will introduce its Batman and Robin in this unusual father-son story inspired by Grant Morrison’s comic series.”

The Batman Part II (Elseworlds)
Matt Reeves is currently writing the script with Robert Pattinson set to return.

SWAMP THING
Swamp Thing was created by writer Len Wein and artist Bernie Wrightson and first appeared in House of Secrets #92 (July 1971) in a stand-alone horror story set in the early 20th century and also appeared in two movies in the 80s.
DC Studios’ news release states that this movie “will investigate the dark origins of Swamp Thing.”

Lanterns
The Green Lantern Corps first appeared in Showcase #22 (September 1959) and the upcoming series will be focused on John Stewart and Hal Jordan and the series was described as an “enormous TV event series” focused on the two unraveling “a dark mystery.”

Booster Gold
Booster Gold was created by Dan Jurgens and first appeared in Booster Gold #1 (February 1986).
Booster Gold has been portrayed in live action television by Eric Martsolf in “Smallville” and by Donald Faison in the seventh season of “Legends of Tomorrow”.
PARADISE LOST
Peter Safran described the series as a "Game of Thrones-type story" with a story that involves "all the darkness and drama and political intrigue behind this society of only women.” James Gunn added that the origin story would explore the paradise island of Themyscira, saying, "How did this society of women come about? What does it mean? What are their politics like? What are their rules? Who's in charge? What are all the games that they play with each other to get to the top?"

Waller
The series will star Viola Davis and written by Watchmen’s Christal Henry and Supernatural’s Jeremy Carver.
The series will also feature Team Peacemaker, and will take place between “Peacemaker” Season 1 and Season 2.

CREATURE COMMANDOS
The Creature Commandos was introduced in Weird War Tales #93 (November 1980) and was created by J. M. DeMatteis and Pat Broderick.
The 7-episode series will be written by James Gunn and will follow Amanda Waller as she forms a new super-team out of “monstrous prisoners.”
