HBO's Official Description
“Watchmen" embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.”
Lindelof wrote a letter to fans back in May, letting them know that the series will take place in present day with new characters in the same world that fans know and love from the graphic novel.
When asked about the project he had this to say:
“Some of the characters will be unknown,” “New faces. New masks to cover them. We also intend to revisit the past century of Costumed Adventuring through a surprising yet familiar set of eyes…and it is here we will be taking our greatest risks.”
"Watchmen" is set to debut in 2019.
