PUBG Corp Drops Lawsuit Against Epic Games
By. Bryce L. Jackson
PUBG Corp has dropped its case against Epic Games in the South Korean courts as the battle between Player Unknown's: Battlegrounds and Fortnite rages on.
The company did not expound on reasons as to why they dropped the case asn as of writing, have not released a statement.
After Player Unknown himself started talking about the lack of IP protection that the gaming industry had after Epic Games released its own battle royale game that was created using the same "Unreal" game engine, their in house game engine. These statements most likely led to the filing of the lawsuit last month.
Conjecture around the topic is leading that the lawsuit may have been dropped for varying reasons like "Fortnite" may have changed too much from its initial release and the case wouldn't be strong enough to sway the case in PUBG Corp's favor.
We'll see if this is the end of the legal PvP battle between the two games or if there will be future attempts from PUBG Corp.
