Overwatch League players, Commissioner to meet with Olympic Committee

It was announced today that Shanghai Dragons Tank player Se-yeon “Geguri” Kim and Houston Outlaws DPS Jake “JAKE” Lyon will be part of a delegation representing esports that will meet with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Switzerland.
The meeting is described as a forum that is not meant to fight for the inclusion of esports and rather as a conversation between members of esports and traditional sports, The esports delegation will also include Amber Dalton, Director of Sales, Sponsorship, and Global Events at Twitch. Overwatch League Commissioner Nate Nanzer, Blizzard Entertainment President Mike Morhaime and CEO of Riot Games Nicolo Laurent will also be in attendance. It was not said if they will have any part in the discussion. A repesentative from Epic Games will also be in attendance as well as Rob Simmelkjaer who is Senior VP of NBC Sports Ventures and will represent NBC Network, who has the U.S. broadcast rights to the Olympics through 2032.
The forum will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland later this month although Jake is already traveling to Switzerland ahead of the meeting. The IOC's current stance that it is against including games with "a strong reflection of violence", a point made clear by IOC Sports Director Kate McConnell.
