Earlier today, Blizzard announced that starting with Stage 2, Overwatch League fans will be able to earn in-game items for watching Overwatch League. Fans will be able to earn special skins, emotes and Overwatch League Tokens that can be used to buy Overwatch League Team skins.
Overwatch League skins will be earned by using Twitch’s Cheer Bits system (Twitch virtual currency) with users giving 100 bits for access to a skin and 150 bits for an emote. Special Global Cheering rewards will also unlock special items. Added details can be read on the Overwatch League page linked below.
Overwatch League Tokens will be earned by watching a match. A token will be earned when a map winner is declared. Some lucky fans will be awarded 100 Overwatch League tokens when a match ends though Blizzard did not detail how they determine who gets the 100 tokens. Fans will need to connect their battle.net account to their twitch account in order to receive all Overwatch League rewards. Added details can be read on the Overwatch League page linked below.
