New Star Wars Films to be written and produced by the creators of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B Weiss are in talks to write and produce a new series of Star Wars films that will be completely separate from the episodic series and the newly announced trilogy by Last Jedi writer & director Rian Johnson.   

Kathleen Kennedy president of Lucasfilm said that "Dan and David are some of the best creators working today" she went on to say that  "Their command of complex characters, depth of story and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting.”

For months, Star Wars fans have been asking for an Old Republic movie or Netflix series in the style of Game of Thrones, and now we have confirmation that the creators of the show are attached to add some diversity to the franchise.

Game of Thrones is one of the most popular television series of all time and I'm very interested in seeing what they can bring to the galaxy far far away. 

No release date has been set for this new series of films.
