Lebron James To Produce A Reboot Of 'Friday The 13th'
by: James A. Barnes
Variety reports that Roy lee’s Vertigo Entertainment and Lebron James’ SpringHill Entertainment are in talks to acquire the rights to start production on a new “Friday The 13th” movie.
No writer or director has been tapped for the project as yet, but I’m excited to see what a new iteration of Jason could look like. The last time Jason was on the big screen was back in 2009 and that film centered around a more methodical version of Jason. I didn’t hate the film, but it was definitely disappointing and unfortunately it wasn’t very re-watchable.
This news comes at no surprise with the incredible success that “Halloween” 2018 is having. “Halloween” opened to $76.2M domestically in it’s opening weekend on a $10 million production budget, and I think if the same type of talent and passion goes into this new
”Friday The 13th” movie, then there is no reason why it wouldn’t be just as successful.
This is a developing story, so stay tuned to Careful 4 Spoilers for updates!
