Kristen Wiig eyed to play the villain of Wonder Woman 2

Variety reports that the former SNL star is being eyed to possibly play the villain Cheetah in the sequel to Wonder Woman. The film is set to pick up with Wonder Woman in the 1980's during the Cold War and Patty Jenkins is set to return as director for the film.

Wiig would not be my personal choice to play Cheetah, but if Patty Jenkins has confidence in her ability then that's good enough for me. 

Cheetah has been one of the main/recurring Wonder Woman villains over the years, created by William Moulton Marston in 1943 when she debuted in Wonder Woman #6.   A few comic book characters have taken up the mantle of Cheetah in the comics, including Priscilla Rich, Deborah Domaine, and most recently, Barbara Anne Minerva.

Wonder Woman 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
