James Cameron Hopes For Avengers Fatigue And Wants More Sci-Fi Films.
In a recent interview while promoting his new docuseries AMC Visionaries: James Cameron's Story of Science Fiction, Cameron talked about the state of the sci-fi genre.
While speaking with Indiewire, Cameron had this to say:
“I’m hoping we’ll start getting Avenger fatigue here pretty soon,” Cameron said. “Not that I don’t love the movies. It’s just, come on guys, there are other stories to tell besides hyper-gonadal males without families doing death-defying things for two hours and wrecking cities in the process. It’s like, oy!”
Cameron is currently working on The Terminator reboot and the 4 sequels to his 2009 film...Avatar. Cameron has directed the two highest grossing films of all time, Avatar ($2,787,965,087) and Titanic ($2,187,463,944) and now with Infinity War coming out, maybe Cameron is worried that an MCU Movie may replace one of his films for the #1 spot at the box office.
