Idris Elba Joins Fast and Furious Spinoff "Hobbs and Shaw" As The Villain.

Variety reports that Idris Elba is in final talks to play the villain in the Fast and Furious spinoff "Hobbs and Shaw" starring Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as special agent Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw.

“Deadpool 2” director David Leitch is set to direct the film from the script penned by Chris Morgan. Universal is set to distribute with production set for this fall.

Since Dwayne Johnson joined the Fast and Furious franchise in Fast Five, and the later addition of Jason Statham in Furious 7, Universal has wanted to find a way to make a spinoff with the two characters and with the addition of Idris Elba as the villain and David Leitch directing the film, fans can expect some incredible fight sequences from the amazing actors.

"Hobbs and Shaw" is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
