Games I Want To Hear From at E3 2018
by: Bryce L. Jackson
With the biggest convention in gaming a month away (June 9th-12th), I wanted to make a list of the games that I want to get more information about.
The Last of Us Part 2
At Paris Games Week, we got what was possibly an in-game cut scene from new characters being introduced. At E3 I need to see grown up Ellie and old Joel (if he’s still alive) and gameplay.
Days Gone
This game was scheduled to be released this year but it was pushed back early next year. We’ve seen gameplay and trailers but now people would just want a solid release date.
Bethesda Studios
Bethesda has been teasing at a few things for this year's conference on social media. After last year's disappointment, they are expected to impress with more things than just remasters and sequels.
Horizon: Zero Dawn Sequel
Getting lost and finding the secrets of this world was my highlight of gaming in 2017. It may be a little early to already be asking for the sequel for Horizon from Guerrilla Games, but we got a trailer for Horizon Zero Dawn years before we got the finished product. I just want to see or hear Aloy’s voice and a title. "Horizon: Forbidden West" or something.
Battlefield 5 (Or Bad Company Series)
It's been 2 years since Battlefield 1 dropped so its about time that we expect official word from EA about what's next in the Battlefield series. Rumors have said to expect Battlefield 5 set in World War 2 but rumors from a credible source have said that EA is returning to the less serious and fan favorite Bad Company series, so we'll have to wait until EA's event to see which way they'll go. Just a head's up EA's event will be held two days before the actual conference on June 9th.
Red Dead Redemption 2
We’ve seen 3 trailers from Red Dead Redemption 2 so far. The one thing we have not seen is gameplay.
Pokemon for Switch
The Switch’s versatility begs for a mainline Pokemon game just as much as the fans are begging for a Pokemon game
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
We recently got a trailer for this game but at E3 we’ll need to see some gameplay in all its gory glory and more story details.
The Division 2
I was all in on The Division for a long time. I was really invested on the story that they started to tell and the combat was enjoyable (If you weren't in the Dark Zone). I want to see where Ubisoft can build off of The Division in its sequel now that the foundation is set and hopefully we can get a more consistent and flushed out campaign and endgame.
Cyberpunk 2077
The game has been rumored and teased for years, sending some fans of CD Projekt Red into a fit of ecstasy. I just want to see a release date so people can be happy.
Ghosts of Tshushima
Suckerpunch debuted this game at Paris Games Week and piqued the interests of many at once. If there is convincing gameplay at E3, this can be a great release in 2 years.
Death Stranding
I'll be honest, I don't care to play this game but the mystery behind what this game is even about and seeing what fans of Hideo Kojima will say about it are what I'm really looking forward to.
Anthem
The game that people already want to hate before EA has released it, because... EA. I want to see more gameplay and story background (If there is any).
