From the very moment you hit play, you are transported to another world. A fitting allegory for such an imaginatively told epic as Dune.
The clear details of vocals and surround effects are punctuated by soul stirring bass. Everything blends together seamlessly drawing you into every scene from beginning to end.
Spice Harvester on Arrakis.
In Chapter 8, we join Duke Leto Atreides, Paul Atreides, Gurney Halleck, and Dr. Liet Kynes as they journey to show the Atreides the spice fields for the first time.
This Chapter offers a visual and audible experience like no other and it is truly an enveloping and awe-inspiring experience.
When we did our test and the first watch of the disc, we experienced 7.1 home theater system and it was as if we were in the spice bed with the harvester, we were truly teleported to Arrakis.
The use of Arri Alexa IMAX cameras and Panavision H-series cameras and the mastering process of film and digital conversion gives the film a crisp yet softened texture detail as almost to mimic being smoothed by the sands of Arrakis.
The use of Dolby Vision is an excellent complement to the beauty encompassed in this work of art.
Dune is a demo-worthy 4K transfer in visual quality and a demo worthy Dolby Atmos mix, that may be one of the best sounding movies of all time.
