Ben Affleck Confirms His Retirement As Batman
by: James A. Barnes
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Ben Affleck confirmed that he has officially hung up his cape and cowl.
When the news broke that Matt Reeves’ first Batman film was going to be released in summer of 2021, Affleck replied to the tweet saying, "Excited for #TheBatman in Summer 2021 and to see @MattReevesLA vision come to life."
After Affleck’s reply, fans were left wondering if this was his way of saying that he was official done as Batman and now we have confirmation from Affleck himself.
"I tried to direct a version of Batman, I worked with a really good screenwriter, but kinda just couldn't come up with a version. Couldn't crack it. I thought it was time for someone else to take a shot at it. And they've got some really good people," said Affleck.
Although I loved Affleck’s portrayal of Batman in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” I thought that his Batman is “Justice League” felt like he was already checked out and it was complete departure from what we saw in BVS, and I think that if an actor doesn’t want to play a role anymore, then the best thing to do is let them go and let someone else take over.
