Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania Movie Review By James Barnes
The title may be “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, but the biggest highlights of the film all belong to Jonathan Majors and his powerhouse performance as Kang the Conqueror.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” is a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, I loved the exploration of the world and ecosystem within the Quantum Realm and learning more about Janet’s time there and how it all connects to Kang and the Dynasty.
Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet Van Dyne), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), and Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang) all turn in great performances but Jonathan Majors stole every scene he was in and I wish that we got to see more of him. He was charismatic, calm and calculated but at any moment that switch could flip, and the last place that you want to be is on the receiving end of Kang’s rage.
On the other hand, the film is littered with cringy dialog, bad jokes, and It felt a bit dull and I found myself feeling a little bored whenever Kang wasn’t on screen.
