James's Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2023
2022 was an incredible year for movies.
2022 gave us films like “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, “The Batman”, “The Northman”, “Barbarian“, “The Menu”, “Pearl”, “Avatar: The Way of Water” and so much more!
Here are my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2023!
10. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
After “The Kingdom and the Crystal Skull” I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see another Indiana Jones movie, but after I found out that James Mangold was going to direct and I saw the first trailer my excitement level has increased dramatically.
9. The marvels
As a huge fan of “WandaVision” and “Ms. Marvel”, I can’t wait to see Kamala and Monica fight side by side with Captain Marvel to save the universe.
I’m also looking forward to seeing how Monica will interact with Carol after not seeing her all these years and how Kamala will react when she meets her favorite superhero.
8. Creed III
The first two “Creed” films were amazing and I’m looking forward to seeing Michael B. Jordan’s vision to round out the trilogy.
Just from the trailers, you can tell that Jonathan Majors is going to be a great addition to the universe and looks to be Adonis’s greatest challenge to date.
7. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
James Gunn told fans that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” was going to be the last film with this group of Guardians and that the film would also serve as an origin story for Rocket.
I loved Vol. 1 but I wasn’t a fan of Vol. 2 so I’m looking forward to seeing where Vol. 3 lands among the first 2.
6. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
I’m beyond excited to see Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror and I’m looking forward to how the film will explore the Quantum realm.
5. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse
The first trailer for “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” teased dozens of different Spider-Man variants from across the Spider-Verse like PS4 Spider-Man, Spider-Man Unlimited, Spider-Punk, Web Slinger, Cyborg Spider-Man, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Armor MK III, Spectacular Spider-Man and so much more.
The first Spider-Verse film may be the best Spider-Man movie ever made and I can’t wait to see the further expansion of the multiverse and its characters in the film.
4. Oppenheimer
Cillian Murphy is one of my favorite actors and has been in most of Christopher Nolan’s films but this time he gets to be the headliner.
Nolan is one of the best directors working today and I can’t wait to see how he portrays this pivotal moment in human history.
3. Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning - Part One
The “Mission Impossible” films have only gotten increasingly better since “Mission Impossible III” and “Dead Reckoning” looks to continue that cycle as Tom Cruise performs one of his most dangerous stunts yet and I can’t wait to see it on the big screen.
2. John Wick: Chapter 4
The “John Wick” franchise is one of the greatest action movie franchises ever made with it’s incredible action sequences, fight choreography, and world building and “John Wick: Chapter 4” could solidify it as the greatest movie quadrilogy of all time.
Dune: Part Two
Coming in at number 1 is “Dune: Part Two”.
Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” is one of the most visually stunning movies I’ve ever seen, has one of my favorite movie scores, and became one of my favorite films of all time.
After I saw “Dune: Part One”, I became obsessed with Frank Herbert’s books and the universe he created and I can’t wait to see how Denis Villeneuve concluded Herbert’s story on the big screen.
